Drake Gets Honest on New Album 'Scorpion'

Drake Gets Honest on New Album 'Scorpion'

After patiently waiting over a year since the drop of mixtape More Life, Champagne Papi is finally giving us what we asked for and more with the overnight drop of the 25-track new album Scorpion.

The lengthy double-sided album includes hit songs "God's Plan," "Nice for What", and "I'm Upset", along with new tracks featuring Jay-Z, Static Major, and Ty Dolla $ign. Additionally, in the chorus of "Don't Matter to Me," Drake samples previously unreleased Michael Jackson vocals.

While he disappointingly doesn't directly address the controversial Pusha T beef, Drake confirms in "Emotionless" that he is in fact a father. With lyrics stating "I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid," Drake fires back at Pusha T for the comments he made that Drake only planned to confirm the existence of his son once he "started selling sweatshirts and sneakers." Drake gets even more honest about life with his new son on closing track "March 14," where he spits "I'm out here on front lines just tryna make sure that I see him sometimes. It's breaking my spirit/A single father, I hate when I hear it."

In typical Drake fashion, the rapper completes the mixed soul and hip-hop album by poking fun at himself in the liner notes, addressing long-standing criticisms about writing his own songs and how his music has changed over the years.

The king of both music and being self-aware, Drake proves that he's not giving up his crown any time soon.

Have a listen to the game-changing album below.
