5 Treats to Try in NYC This August

As New York City is one of the biggest food capitals of the world, it can sometimes be overwhelming to choose which restaurant to swing by for brunch or a sweet treat. Luckily, V has got you covered for the most Insta-worthy delicacies to eat up this summer. From CBD-infused coffees to mac and cheese cones, prepare for a glorious ending to a summer of delicious NYC eats.

1. Tipsy Scoop

This liquor-infused ice cream shop is currently all the rage on Instagram. Located in Midtown East, the barlour offers 14 classic cocktail-inspired flavors, from mango margarita sorbet to vanilla bean bourbon. All scoops contain up to 5% ABV, so although they probably won't give you too much of a midsummer day buzz, they're still only available to be purchased by those 21 and older. A summer pop-up shop also recently opened in the courtyard of the Arlo Soho hotel, where a few popular flavors are being served, along with a new line of $18 ice cream cocktails. For those looking to throw one last boozy summer party, pints and ice cream cakes are available to purchase in store and online.

2. Bubby's

Located in Tribeca and near the High Line, this American restaurant offers drinks infused with the latest trend: CBD oil. Although cannabidiol is one of the compounds found within the cannabis plant, it does not induce a high. Instead, it provides a sense of relaxation. Bubby's offers 25 mg of pure hemp CBD oil in its Azuca CBD Infused Drinks, including dripped coffee, iced coffee, tea, and lemonade. Additionally, they'll add the calming oil to any of their cocktails for $6.

3. Katz's Delicatessen

If you're still looking for the perfect, All-American, summer food, look no further than Katz's Delicatessen. Located in the Lower East Side, this famous deli offers one of the best all-beef hot dogs in the city. If you're not feeling hot dogs, the cafeteria also serves incredible brisket and pastrami sandwiches. Plus, you can take a picture at the iconic When Harry Met Sally table, located in the center of the restaurant.

4. Merchants River House

At Merchants River House in Battery Park, you can find mac and cheese inside of a waffle cone. Available in four different varieties, this incredible carb concoction mixes creamy elbow pasta with bacon, buffalo chicken, truffle lobster, or parmesan. For only $32, you can try and share all four flavors, which honestly is the perfect move for an end-of-summer celebration.

5. Dominique Ansel Kitchen

Located in West Village, this bakery offers famously creative pastries and soft serve ice cream flavors. One of these viral creations, the What-A-Melon Soft Serve, is a slice of watermelon, covered with dark chocolate seeds, and filled with their watermelon soft serve. Since nothing says summer more than watermelon and soft serve ice cream, this sweet treat is the perfect way to beat the remaining days of August heat.
